FAST RESCUE CRAFT

This course is designed to enable persons to take charge of fast rescue craft and meets the competencies required by section A-VI/2-2 of STCW-95. The course also meets the requirements of the South African Code of Maritime Qualifications, the Merchant Shipping (Training and Certification) Regulations, 1999. Practical training is carried out with a semi-rigid inflatable boat at the Unicorn Survival Training Centre. Alternatively training may be carried out on board a principals ship using that vessels boat and gear. Certificates will be issued to successful candidates on completion.

REQUIREMENTS: All candidates must produce proof of identity (on day 1), a Proficiency in Survival Craft certificate and 2 passport size black & white photos. Deck shoes or takkies are required for the practical exercises.

MEDICAL FITNESS: Must produce a valid medical certificate stating that the candidate was examined in terms of Marine Notice No. 1 of 1992.

ADDITIONAL: Refreshments and lunch are provided whilst on course. Please notify us if there are any personal catering allergies or religious restrictions, in order for us to make the necessary arrangements.

DURATION: 3 days

A minimum of 3 candidates are required. The fee includes transport between the School and Survival Training Centre, use of wet suits, stationery, refreshments and a light lunch. COURSE IS SCHEDULED TO RUN ON DEMAND. PLEASE ENQUIRE.
