The course fulfills the requirements of the South African Code of Maritime Qualifications, the Merchant Shipping (Training and Certification) Regulations 1999, and is examined by SAMSA at our Training Centre. The course is accredited by SAMSA and a certificate is issued to successful candidates on completion.
REQUIREMENTS: All candidates must be over 18 years and should be able to tread water/swim.
SEATIME: Must produce proof of having served at sea in any capacity for a period of not less than 6 months. This may be in the form of a letter from an employer and should provide as much detail of the sea service as possible.
MEDICAL FITNESS: Must produce a valid medical certificate stating that the candidate was examined in terms of Marine Notice No. 1 of 1992
ADDITIONAL: Must produce proof of identity, an approved Training Record book (if the candidate commenced training after 1 January 1999) and 2 passport size black & white photos. Candidates are required to bring a swimming costume and towel for the wet drill module. Wet suits are available for cold weather. Candidates are to bring along their ID/Passport on the 1st day of the course.

A minimum of three candidates are required for the course and the fee includes transport to and from th wet drill, stationery, refreshments, a light lunch and sundry materials.
